Several times when the family got together my brother-in-law said he had some lumber he had been saving and I would be interested in looking at it so one weekend I met him at his house and he led me to a small shed which he had stakes of lumber. After looking it over I selected two good sized cedar planks that were about two inches thick and gave my brother-in-law a modest sum for them. The planks had voids and holes in about 25% of the boards. I considered making some type of table with them which I would had filled in the voids with plastic resin but after having done that with the trestle table, I decided instead to make a pair of patio chairs. It took a lot of careful layout but I was able to get enough good boards to make two chairs.
