He was the younger brother mentioned in the Oct. 26, 1810 passport of Michael. He settled near his older brother, Michael, on lands on the Mississippi - Louisiana line. He is shown in 1820 census, Washington Parish, LA, but in Amite County, MS in all other censuses. He m. Apr 2, 1817 to Elizabeth A. Wall, b. Sep 1801, d. Apr 1875, bur. Mixon Cemetery Amite County MS, on Apr 2, 1817.

Mixon, son of Adriel Mixon and wife, was b. in Orangeburg District SC., ca. 1808, d. in Tanjipahoe Parish, La:, before 1870 (the census year that listed Clarissa Sanders Mixon, his widow, with a son and two daughters). The family had not been found in any census prior to publication of either volume I or II of the Mixon-Mixson books, however, the 1850 census of St. Tammany Parish, La. shows the family as follows: (Listed as NIXONS).
